We saw a beautiful Monarch in our backyard perched for a rest on our nectarine tree. It was alone and sat in the sun for quite some time. This sighting occured on Aug. 30, 2004. It is the only Monarch we've seen all summer. Usually we have a multitude. However, our butterfly bush was removed this spring and that could be a big factor.
