After a season of not seeing much of anything you could call a butterfly, I have noticed that the flowers left in the gardens are covered with many species of butterfly, and I finally saw 1 lonely Monarch fly through the yard. It was small, seemed to be in good condition and kept moving. Also, the 5th graders at North Heights Elementary have rescued 9 Monarch caterpillars from the outdoor classroom and are rearing them in their indoor classrooms.
