I saw a female Monarch laying eggs on the Asclepias currasvica I had in my plant nursery. She chose about 6of the plants to very carefully placed one egg per leaf. she overlooked some of the other A. currasvica plants that were there--she would wander around than come back to the same 6 plants and find a spot to put her egg. about 35 min.
