Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/22/2004

Number: 1

Mrs. Ference's class and Mrs. Swentzel's class, have trying to locate any in our area. We have noticed a limited number of monarch caterpillars this year. So far our two classes have been able to only find one egg and one caterpillar. This is very unusual. We think it may be due to the cooler summer that we have had here in Northern NJ, but, we are not sure. Normally at this time we are able to locate a number of caterpillars and have sighted many monarch butterflies gracing our skies.
