Monarchs passing thru here just don't qualify for the mpm or mph! It's really easy! While mowing lawn at sunset on Friday, I got buzzed by a monarch that was flying across the yard roller coaster fashion. It crossed the road and disappeared into a lone poplar for the night. So guess I have seen one go to roost this year. It went into that tree like a long distance trucker into a Motel 6! No circling, no decisions, g'nite! The drought continues to scorch this area. Saturday was a gray day in the mid 60's, socked in by the first clouds we've had in nearly 2 weeks. No more monarchs at all.
