I had our first Monarch butterfly in my garden just this past saturday. Prior to that I had only seen one Monarch- at a garden center local to me. They had even said there were few Monarchs this year. I have also noticed that all the butterflies seem to be rare this year!!?!

After that I decided I must add Milkweeds to my existing hummingbird gardens. So hopefully next year we will see some more. I have butterfly bushes and several pink coneflowers already. :)
