Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/04/2004

Number: 1

The number of Monarch butterflies has increased in our area on Hwy 158 between Bronte and Robert Lee and on Hwy 277 between Bronte and San Angelo. The small cold front that has been making its way through has pushed the butterflies ahead of it. I noticed Sunday night, some butterflies spending the night in the trees on the Kickapoo Creek in the North East corner of town, a favorite stop-over for them. We have not seen the large numbers of "visitors" yet, maybe soon.
