On 10/1/04 we had a cold front pass through Oklahoma City, OK around 6:00 p.m. From about 7:00 p.m. until dusk I observed several hundred monarchs, dragon flies, raptors riding the northerly breezes. On Saturday through mid-morning Sunday (10/2 & 10/3) we saw a steady flow of monarchs passing through with 3-5 in sight at all times. On Sunday the wind calmed then switched back around from the south and at that point the movement slowed significantly.
