Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/07/2004

Number: 1

We haven't seen a lot of our beautiful monarchs in Quebec this summer. I used to see lots of them cause I'm living near somes habitats with lots of A. syriaca. Even people from south Quebec doesn't seem to have seen lots of them. We are conducting a little survey of the population in La Mauricie National Park and we've seen only 3 larva during the season ; we surveyed about 1800 milkweed on the road side. I know that a roas side in the middle of a forest is not the best habitat but last year we captured (and released !) about 50 of them in a week.
