Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/08/2004

Number: 1

I fished all day Friday, 10/8, on Lake Amistad at Del Rio and Monarchs, at
times lots of them (50-100 within my view), were flying over the lake
southward just about all day. Watching the spectacle of the Monarchs was
almost as much fun as the great bass fishing! For the day the total number
had to be in the thousands. So, on Saturday from my home in Junction I
looked for Monarchs but only observed a few stragglers but could always see
1 or 2. A major movement must be occurring around the Del Rio area.
