Dug up last year's tulips(plan to replant somewhere else on school site). They were all black - yuck! Experimental ones (ones planted sideways and upside down) were right side up and a student wonders if they pulled themselves by their roots. Planted additional 4 control bulbs and 4 experimental bulbs ~ one in a cardboard roll, one with extra fertilizer, and 2 bulbs which will be unearthed in the spring, at emergence(before blooming) to slice and tape separate ones back together(with a sprout on each "new" bulb).
