We planted our tulips in front of the Mound Elementary School Sign. The students weighed and measured their bulbs before planting. Teams took turns turning and raking the soil. Each student dug and measured their own 7 inch hole. 30 tulips were planted on the Northeast side of the building. We did not water them yet, as the soil was fairly moist. Moth ball crystals were sprinkled around the soil to prevent squirrels and other animals from digging them up. Next year, we decided that it would be easier to dig an entire bed and then add soil to raise it to 7 inches.
