Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/01/2004

Number: 1

Monarchs have been scattered at best. Our last sighting was on a
clear day in the low 70's, but the barometer was dropping steadily
indicating an approaching storm. The next day brought showers and
colder weather. We only saw a few visiting our Heritage Garden,
along with the 15 or so we tagged and released that day. We now
await word from any observer between Northern Utah and Southern
California to find one of our orange & black friends. What an
amazing creature! My students have also been collecting milkweed
seeds with the intent to scatter them in appropriate habitat areas.
