This year I've planted two gardens in Vermont. They are about 59 miles apart- as the crow flies. I wonder which one will grow faster!

Here are some differences between the two gardens:

The northern one, in Charlotte, is at latitude 44.31 north. The southern one, in Norwich, is at latitude 43.75 north.

The southern garden is at a higher elevation (1,300 feet vs. 520 feet).

The northern garden is in Vermont's Champlain Valley, which is known as Vermont's "banana belt." This is because the water in Lake Champlain keeps the weather in the Champlain Valley warmer during most winters.

I'm curious to see how fast my gardens grow compared to many others planted in our state at various elevations and latitudes.

People say spring comes to Vermont at different times depending on where you are. I'm looking forward to seeing what the gardens show.
