Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/12/2004

Number: 1

The Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center was lucky again to have the help of the city gardeners to prepare our tulip bed. Early this morning, we had 8th grade students from Hackett Middle School in Albany plant the Red Emperor tulip bulbs as snowflakes fell from the sky. Several additional schools in Albany are also planting Journey North tulip gardens at their sites. Students predicted the tulips will bloom between April 30-May 30. As a Capital City, we are proud to have several Journey North tulip gardens and host an annual Tulip Festival in May.
