The Monarchs have begun to appear at the Huntington Beach Central Library Overwintering Site beginning October 23, 2004 (this is the date that I first observed their return—I noted six that day and saw several flying toward the park that day as well). Today I was there and witnessed at least 75 roosting and flying about the trees by the amphitheatre. I also witnessed and photographed a pair mating in one of the Eucalyptus trees.
