Our bulbs are planted! We participated last year and unfortunately as soon as our bulbs started to emerge, they were eaten by deer. So this year we planted our bulbs in a different spot and hopefully, a safer one too. There are 26 bulbs planted that follow all of the requirements of the Journey North program. We planted 4 "What if..." bulbs. The students brainstormed ideas for this and voted on the following to try: 1) 1 bulb planted 10" deep 2) 1 bulb planted just under the surface of the soil 3) 1 bulb placed 7" deep and sideways 4) 1 bulb cut in half and both halves planted 7" deep. We look forward to the arrival of spring to see what happens this year!
