Signs of Fall

An expert, Bob Sargent came to my place and captured the bird and tagged him. I thought it was a Rufus hummer but It was even rarer for a Ruby throated hummmer to be still here today. He must migrate or will probably die. There is lots of shelter...hugh sheds with tons and tons of firewood and woods too. and my father next door has an opening to Hell and the fire from it warms the neighborhood ( a fireplace we call "The Gates of Hell") I'll do my part and keep fresh nectar. He is eating bugs so he will survive for sure if he migrates farther south. I wrapped a heating pad around the feeder. His tongue is sticking out but the expert said it didnt have anything wrong with his tongue like a burr or ulcer..his weight was 3.2?? and they were well pleased with his weight.
