In groups of 3-4, each form five student planted a tulip after careful instructions from instructor Claire Damarodas. Once the tulip trench was dug, a cup of sand was gingerly dumped upon the tulip to hold it in upright position. Then a cup of compost was added and the organic matter was gently pressed down. Finally the garden dirt and mulch were return to the top of the planting area just outside the form five classrooms. The bulbs were then watered. Some tulips were planted in more shady areas, and some were planted in sunnier areas so that a comparison study can be made later as the tulips begin to emerge.
