Robins: Oh my yes. My yard has been full of robins and cedar waxwings all winter, since around the 7th of Dec. I have actually banded a few as well. Close up and in hand. What a treat. They are SO FAT!!!! Their little tummies are very round. Beautiful eyes. Love them. I have several trees, bayberry, that they have been constantly in. They have been at my bird baths every day to drink or take bathes. It has been so neat. They have always come for a couple of days to eat the berries just before their journey north, but this winter they have been with me constantly. I think a lot of it has to do with the tree loss around here during the hurricanes. So, maybe my yard is an oasis this year! I would guess the day I banded the robins there were easily 1000 around us. They figured out the nets pretty quickly but every so often a car would come through and they would go wild and miscalculate the nets and go right into them.
