The sighting was in my backyard during a freak six-inch snowfall with an
abnormal cold snap (-6 c).
There were about 12 robins eating berries off my hedge right after the
snowfall. I have since heard many birds singing toward the end of the day.
Usually we do not get any snow here on the west coast of Canada.
Also as a note, the crocuses are just beginning to flower, and the daffodils
are peeking out of the soil and should be flowering mid-February. For the
past two weeks, the temperatures have been a few degrees above normal ( high
temps of 12c).
