Where'd they all go?
Yesterday, 01/31/05, there were hundreds of robins in the field adjacent to my backyard. Today there are none at all. Zero.
As yesterday, the weather is cool (40s), overcast, drizzly and rainy - a great day for ducks, but not, apparently for robins.
We still have scores of goldfinches on our thistle sock feeders, along with around five or six pine siskins, a few female red-winged blackbirds (but many fewer than yesterday), and a few chipping sparrows.
