I saw waves of robins in our neighborhood on Jan. 30. They were eating fruit from flowering dogwood trees. The fruit looks like cherries (they are small and red) and they were frozen on the trees. We have a few of these trees in our development and in a day or two, the robins did a good job eating the fruit and leaving the pits by the trees. The robins perched on trees. It looked like small flocks. The temperature was in the low 40s. I never saw them come so early. It was a day or two after the ice storm in the Carolinas. They stayed for a few days. I saw one or two on Sat/Sun Feb. 5/6. The temperature was in the 50s. It was so exciting to see them on Jan. 30.
