Dear JNorth,

On Saturday, I spotted a Great Blue Heron in a small marshy pond not far from our school. I thought this was very unusual for
this time of year. Our weather has been very cold with temperatures down below zero. It was only at the end of the week that the temperatures were warming up to mid thirties.
