Driving on West River Road (State Route 65) just west of Fort Meigs State Park at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 12, my Mom and I spotted a bald eagle flying over an open wooded area going towards the Maumee River. That was the first bald eagle I have spotted in the wild in Ohio. Very cool! It was sunny and the temperature was about 33 degrees F.
