Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/16/2005

Number: 1

The weather conditions were bright sunshine, light winds, mild
temps mid day...about 70. The milkweed is beginning to leaf out...a few
flowers on older plants that the winter frost didn't get. The Monarch was
flying high...about 15 feet above the ground. This was on the south end of
Jacksonville...things tend to leaf out, and bud about two weeks earlier on
the south end of town than on the North end of town. I live on the
Northside and work in the Southside....it is like having two springs!!!
