When we checked on our gardens on February 9th, we had emergence in the experimental garden, but not the control garden. The students that saw emergence reported that they had not planted the tulips at the required depth of 7 inches. They determined that this factor probably led to an earlier emergence than the control garden. When we went back and checked the gardens on the 16th, we had emergence in the control garden.
