Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/21/2005

Number: 1

While riding onboard Amtrak's Silver Star to Florida about 10 days ago, I
saw my first monarchs of the year. I had a glimpse of them when we came to
a stop at a station there. Two monarchs and a few dark skippers were
nectaring on some tiny white flowers alongside the tracks in Lake
Okeechobee. Have only seen one or two other butterflies here in Broward
County since that time.
