Yesterday afternoon at 5:30 I noted a *RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD *at my
feeder. He spent the next 15-20 minutes wolfing down sunflower seeds.
I believe this was a first year male. He hadn't finished moulting into
adult breeding plumage - his wing patches were not fully formed and his
back still showed brown flecks.
