The first hint that there were birds around was the large number of tracks in the snow. Then I found wing prints, and saw insects on this sunny day, as they crawled over the snow. There were about 20 robins picking the stoneflies off the snow. Now, there are often robins that overwinter here, but I had not seen any in this location all winter. Others mentioned seeing 7-10 during the winter. There were closer to 20 robins showing today.
