FIRST BARN SWALLOW of the year sighted 3/14/05 at 6:25 pm flying above horse pasture in Mc Kinney, Texas! At first I took a double take as I noticed the familiar shape swooping in the sky above the pasture, and then I heard the signature barn swallow call and I knew the first of many barn swallows had arrived after a long journey north from the wintering habitat!
