I was on the patio yesterday afternoon when I noticed a steady stream of flying insects heading north. I watched more carefully and noticed that they were butterflies - Monarchs. They were in groups from 2 to 8, some singles, every 5 to 10 seconds for the 15 minutes or so that I was watching.
