Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 03/01/2005

Number: 1

The robins have been back for several weeks now. I heard and saw them first about March 1st. A large group was chattering in the walnut and ash
trees around our yard. We have had more snow since then and it has stayed.
Usually by now, March 18th, the snow is gone and I am cleaning out my flower beds. I
can't even see the beds yet for snow.
This week it is starting to feel more like spring (40'F- 45'F in the
daytime & 25-30'F at night) All the birds are out singing. More robins are
around now along with red winged blackbirds. I haven't heard any of the
robins singing yet, but it is just a matter of time before I do. The snow
is slowly melting more each day. We always get a cold breeze off Lake Huron
during the day which slows down the melting. Inland there is much less
snow. I'll let you know when I hear the first robins singing.
