Of the the three Baltimore Orioles wintering in the yard, only two have been
visible the last week or so. Unfortunately for me, they were the
female/immature male plumaged ones. The adult male is either gone or
hiding. The other two seem to be fairly stuck to the front yard most of the
time, though. They have been heavily feeding on Old Orange Abutilon flowers
quite a lot. They also seem to be chekcing clusters of ripening Loquat
fruit, along with N.Mockingbirds & Br.Thrashers. The crop of loquats
doesn't seem as heavy as last year, but the abutilon flowers are a lot more
numerous.
