First American Robin to-day, March 18 at 08.00 hours. First seen on south
facing side of a spruce hedge on a patch of grass under a white spruce tree.
Surrounding area was generally under a 20 - 30 cm. blanket of snow. Also in the
vicinity(10 m.) was a Siberian Crab apple tree (Malus baccata) which does provide
food for robins at this time of year.

The weather was sunny with temperatures at 4 degrees C below zero. The location
is near Embro, Ontario.
