At long last I heard my first robin song today from a distance. The temperatures have been colder than normal and we are still below the isotherm of 36 degrees. I'm not sure if this robin was an overwintering bird; I have heard a robin in February giving a mild alarm call. There hasn't been a wave or robins here yet as in previous years by this date.
