All Other Signs of Spring

In Shageluk, Alaska we have had our first flocks of Snow Buntings come through March 21-27 on their way to their nesting destination on the coast, only about 80 miles from us. I expect another flock to come through but they are about a month early this year. We've been keeping track since 1998 and the earliest we have recorded seeing Snow Buntings is April 5. We think this first group this year came in on the fierce winds (speaking of weather systems!) that swept over Alaska March 20.
Even our Elders say they are very early this year.

There's a northern update for you!

Cold here the past couple of days. -20 C.
