On Wed. March 30 I was in New Orleans, LA in the NO Botanical Garden. Within their small butterfly garden I observed 7 adult monarchs ( 4 males, 3 females, all worn). Additionally, I counted 15 fresh eggs and 1 fourth-instar larva on the 37 individual Mexican milkweed plants within the garden. The adult butterflies were hanging around the garden because of the host plants.
