We were beginning to become frustrated because the other classes in the 5th grade had emerging tulips and we did not have anything. We went outside and had to clear away the leaves and we noticed that there were tulips poking through them. The shoots are actually red and yellow right now. We think it might be because they were under the leaves and did not get a lot of sun. One was about 10 cm tall. We did not notice them because of the many leaves and the patches of snow that are still on the ground. They probably came up a week or so ago. Only one of our experimental bulbs has popped up but many of our control bulbs have emerged. We are very happy to see the tulips have emerged!!
