There are hundreds of Monarchs flying down my street today. I live in the western part of San Francisco. They are coming in ones, twos and threes in a slow but steady stream. It took me a while to notice it, but once I did, it was fascinating. The weather is warmer today and the wind has died down. We've been having a lot of rain and wind recently. In the front of my house they are generally about ten feet off the ground. In the backyard, where there are trees they are at least 20 feet and their flights are more erratic.
