Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/02/2005

Number: 1

I found about two dozen eggs laid on the under sides of Antelope Horns, Asclepias asperida. There are several other types of milkweed on our property including lots of Asclepias viridis plants, but no eggs were found on them. No eggs were on my butterfly garden plants including Swamp Milkweed and Butterfly weed, Asclepias tuberosa. I have not spotted a Monarch as yet, but obviously one, or a Queen, has been in the area.
