I had talked to my mother who lives in Nipomo, California which is on the coast of California close to Pismo Beach where the Monarchs winter over. She said she had seen a cloud of them that looked like a bunch of leaves then two days later I started seeing these single butterflies that were all flying in the same direction. I put two and two together and figured out that it was the Monarchs. Pretty exciting. They have been flying over my backyard all day today, April 2nd, 2005.
