Near downtown (west northwest of maxine smith sighting)many 100s monarchs flying west northwest or west. About 11:00am. We then drove via US101 south to Santa Clara. All along the way (~100 miles) we saw monarchs, at times quite a few visible in the air 10s at any time. 4/3/05 none are seen at the santa rosa location (11:00am) though weather may be a factor as it is lightly sprinkling.
