I was in the field on the March 29, in Jim Hogg Co, 25 miles south of
Hebbronville, and in Kenedy Co. 20 miles southwest of Rivera. There is
tons of Asclepias oenotheroides in full bloom, as well as lantana, etc.
I was out from sunup to sundown (am-jim hogg co., pm-kenedy co.) and
didn't see a single monarch.
Was in Webb co. yesterday (March 31), was in the field 12 miles East of
Laredo (late PM), and 15 miles south of Laredo for most of the day-also
saw no monarchs.
In Kingsville, my butterfly weed, has been in full bloom for 2+ weeks
and have also not seen a single monarch.
Will be in the hill country (near Goldthwaite, Mills Co.) this weekend
and will let you know if I see any there.
