Since Friday 4/1/05 approx. 10.00am we have been noticing continual steam of butterflies in the Tracy/Lathrop/Stockton area. We thought at first they were monarchs but after seeing one land outside the kitchen window, long enough to judge, it was definitely Painted Lady. This was confirmed by looking at this website photos comparing markings etc.
