There have been several butterfly enthusiasts doing butterfly counts at various places throughout southern Arizona, and as of yet, not a single monarch has been reported. Is it possible that monarchs do not return via the same route they traveled in the fall? We certainly do not have a lot of fall migrants in southern Arizona, but we do have a lot more than zero!
Other day had a visitor think a two-tailed swallowtail was a monarch! ;)
