Sighted a pair of hooded mergansers in the pond behind the house this morning.

I heard a lot of loud squirrel barking and chatter this morning and couldn't figure out what was going on until I spotted two pair of wood ducks flying from tree to tree checking out potential nesting sights. There were some very startled squirrels popping out of tree holes (and wood duck houses) in the woods! I think I'll be installing more wood duck houses this weekend to keep peace (and the wood ducks) in the neighborhood.
