Just spotted one adult on a house I was visiting in North Kansas City, Missouri. I am certain it was a Monarch. It flew onto the deck railing and actually stayed there quite sometime. I was even able to get quite close to it before it flew off. I was pretty amazed to see one this early myself. That is why I googled the internet to see what the usual pattern was. I also checked as many butterfly notes to see if there was anything other than a monarch which looked like the one I saw just in case. It definately was a Monarch. I was suprised and delighted to have it visit me and even let me look it over from quite close up.
