Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 04/09/2005

Number: 1

Our tulips are blooming and they are very pretty! The first tulip to bloom was Connor's. It started opening on Friday, April 8th and opened completely on Saturday the 9th. We think the warmer weather and the rain helped our tulips open. We were surprised to see that some tulips had two or three blooms on them! Some students noticed that the very ends of the leaves have a purplish tint. The inside is yellow, purple, and black. Lexxi's was the smallest tulip. We're not sure if she planted it too deeply or if it's just a small one. The tallest one was Connor's at 37cm tall. Two of our tulips died because something ate the buds off. Elizabeth's was only 3 cm smaller than Connor's. 3 of our tulips haven't bloomed yet, but they are getting close. We hope the rain doesn't destroy them before the newspaper and TV reporters get here!
