Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/06/2005

Number: 1

Believe I have been seeing some monarchs in the hay fields here
beginning 4-6-05, 6.4 miles west of Madisonville on hwy 21. They used
to come to the asclepias in flower bed just outside kitchen window where
we could get a close look, but the plants did not come back this spring.
So have only seen them in flight from some distance. Observed several
pairs mating (?), one flying and the other with wings folded.
